I wrote this on May 8, 2009 as part of my application for getting hired at Cisco Systems. In order to prove my ability to translate verbal requirements into a working Swing application I've taken two problems that were presented to me in the initial phone screen, and written a sample application to do the job.
Instructions:
Download and run the executable jar. There are two main controls. The combo box at the top sets the color of the window. If you type a URL into the text box and then click "Go!" it will retrieve the contents of the web page you specified.
